Global Market for Mobile Wallet Technologies to Reach $665 Billion in 2017

The key objective of the mobile wallet is to facilitate a user with an electronic wallet in which all the contents of a real wallet such as cash and cards are electronically available at any time and anywhere. The most important driver for money transfers through a mobile wallet is the transfer without the need of Internet (typical Internet-enabled desktops or laptops). This increases the accessibility of such a facility to the rural segment and also individuals who do not hold bank accounts.

A business module is the major driver adopted in the mobile wallet system. This module requires few changes involved in technological infrastructure; new internal controls and training must be monitored and designed. The various players in a business module could be mobile operator-centric, bank-centric, hybrid collaborative, or independent service provider. Analyzing, creating and delivering new services for customer satisfaction can drive a mobile operator to see profits and bring in new customers.

For both business-to-customer (B2C) and business-to-business (B2B) activities, customer relation management (CRM) should provide technological infrastructure to detect and rectify risk factors, liabilities, and responsibilities related to mobile payment customer grievances while handling cross-organizational and cross-platform transactions in a business module.

The Asia-Pacific region generates the highest revenues from the mobile wallet and will continue to grow at the highest rate during the forecast period. The increased penetration levels of smartphones combined with the convenience of processing low-cost and high-volume transactions through the mobile wallet is expected to drive the market growth in this region at a very significant rate.

Global Market for Molecular, Atomic and Nanoscale Imaging to Reach Nearly $4.4 Billion in 2017

Lack of regulations and liberalization of many of the countries in the Asia-Pacific region have opened up prospective opportunities for microscopes in several end-user industries. The demand of effective microscopy techniques is increasing in these regions due to the progressive shift of manufacturing facilities in the semiconductor manufacturing and electronics industries. Additionally, the greater emphasis on quality levels in industrial and biological research activities has augmented the demand for effective and advanced microscopy techniques.

The electron microscopes market is bigger than that of ion microscopes. A wide range of applications of electron microscopes is the driving factor for this market. Product innovations and increasing applications are also driving the market for electron microscopes.

 RSS Feeds – Nanotechnology

The fluorescent and bioluminescent probes market is larger than the nanoparticles and quantum dots markets. Commercially available quantum dots are promising competitors of fluorescent and bioluminescent probes. Therefore, the market for quantum dots is increasing at a higher growth rate than the fluorescent and bioluminescent probes market. The optical and thermal market is growing and is experiencing an oligopoly market structure. Pharmaceutical companies and academic research labs are the major end users of optical imaging systems. Due to their relatively low cost, optical imaging systems are preferred over the other kinds of microscopes.

Global Market for Rare Earth is Expected to Reach Nearly 258,000 Metric Tons in 2016

Growth in consumption of rare earths is being driven to a large extent by the utilization of these materials in mechanical/metallurgical applications, primarily for the fabrication of permanent magnets. The mechanical/metallurgical sector is estimated to account for 32.1% of total rare earth oxide (REO) consumption for 2011. This trend should continue for 2012 but no total geological data have yet been accumulated for 2012.
Other sectors of application for rare earth materials are within the glass and ceramics; energy; chemical; and electronics, optics and optoelectronics sectors, which combined account for 65.4% of total REO consumption. Other sectors (such as life sciences, sensors and instrumentation, and consumer) account for a combined share of 2.5%.

Consumption of rare earths is projected to continue growing during the next five years, primarily driven by the energy and electronics and optoelectronics sectors. High-growth applications in these sectors include batteries for hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), advanced displays and solid-state lighting.

 RSS Feeds – Advanced materials

The development of newer applications for rare earths in all the significant categories will continue over the next five to 10 years. The high unit prices of these materials represent an incentive for reducing consumption and finding alternative materials, or greatly increasing recycling of the materials. The most cost-effective solution is good recycle and separation technologies for the rare earths elements and their potential alloys.

Research projects that consumption of rare earths will increase at a CAGR of 10.3% from 2011 to 2016, leading to the consumption of nearly 258,000 tons of REO in 2016.
This report provides:
  • Identification of the top 10 companies in the market for rare earths, and the rationale behind these selections
  • Factors taken into account, including technical innovation, market leadership, and commitment to this market via investment in products

North American Commercial Roofing Market is Expected to Reach $4.6 Billion in 2017

As energy costs continue to rise, the ability of roofing materials to reduce utility bills will begin to play a much larger role in helping to calculate the actual cost-effectiveness of the roofing system.  The rise in popularity of green building has produced a new demand in the market for a larger variety of recycled roofing materials.
Increased demand for reflective and green/vegetative roofing products is driven by environmental concerns as well as federal and state tax incentives from the recent U.S. economy stimulus plan.  These product types are expected to continue to be fueled by increased awareness efforts on behalf of manufacturers, architects and contractors specializing in environmentally-friendly roofing materials.

The long-term expectation for the roofing industry will ultimately hinge on the long-awaited recovery of the U.S. economy as a whole.  Moderate recovery began in 2012, with GDP growth moving back into positive numbers.  Federal incentive programs have taken hold, and consumers are becoming more educated about the programs and tax incentives available to them.  Increased environmental concerns and growing tax incentives are beginning to affect the roofing market demand.

 RSS Feeds – Advanced materials

By 2017, there will be significant increases in green roofing systems as well as energy-efficient reflective roofing product alternatives.  This stimulation of the commercial roofing market will continue to grow slowly, with recovery expected around 2014, thanks to several important environmentally friendly market trends.

COMMERCIAL ROOFING MATERIALS: THE NORTH AMERICAN MARKET (AVM071B) provides:
  • An overview of all commercial roofing products used in the North American (U.S. and Canadian) market
  • Analyses of market trends, with data from 2010, 2011 and 2012, and projections of compound annual growth rates (CAGRs) through 2017
  • Discussion of the latest in product developments, material, and technology enhancements, as well as a detailed look at the various distribution channels and their dynamics
